During a recent visit to Kabul Afghanistan, I was able to tour the city and learn more about its history and local Islamic culture. I was able to establish an understanding of potential areas in need of development. I walked along the Kabul River and the local markets, and visited some of its most recent buildings. Kabul is experiencing a boom in new construction and a few high-rise buildings have been built using modern construction materials and techniques. It was a very encouraging feeling.

The project will be based on privately funded developments of mixed-use facilities that will include hotels, office buildings, retail malls, outdoor markets, medical facilities, low cost housing, cultural buildings such as concert halls and movies theaters, public parks and pedestrian malls, fountains, new roadways, parking and the beginnings of a public transit system.

The facilities will include an upgraded infrastructure for domestic water, sanitation system, electrical and IT.
